The Elite Theatre is proud to announce its upcoming production of A Bench in the Shade – a comedy by Ron Clark, directed by Colin Fluxman, running for three weekends on the South Stage from March 18 – April 3, 2022.
Plot:
Annie and Paul were engaged many years ago and now reside at the same Retirement Community, Seaside Heights Manor. Now, Annie has become intrigued by the arrival of Italian actor Roberto. The senior romance is impeded by news of the retirement home being sold.
Auditions will be held at the theatre, at 2731 S. Victoria Ave, Oxnard 93035, on January 23, 24, and 25 from 7pm-9pm.
Rehearsals at the theatre will commence on Feb 1, 7pm-10pm. The full schedule will be handed out at the first rehearsal.
Cast Requirements:
2 males and 1 female, acting 65+ (Note: Roberto’s accent is Italian, not over the top – a hint of it will do.) All ethnicities are welcome.
1 female announcer (pre-recorded) – age 40-50
