The Elite Theatre is proud to announce its upcoming production of Lobby Hero – a play by Kenneth Lonergan, directed by Cate Caplin, running for five weekends on the Main Stage from July 8, 2022 to August 7, 2022.
Plot:
When Jeff, a luckless young security guard, is drawn into a local murder investigation, loyalties are strained to the breaking point. As Jeff’s tightly wound supervisor is called to bear witness against his troubled brother, and an attractive rookie cop finds she must stand up to her seasoned partner, truth becomes elusive and justice proves costly.
Auditions:
Auditions will be held at 260 Maple Court, Ste 201, Ventura, on Saturday, April 9th from 1-4pm.
Performers auditioning are requested to bring headshots and resumes to the audition.

- William, his captain, 30’s to 40’s, (African American actor preferred)
- Bill, a uniformed police officer, 30’s to 40’s
- Dawn, his rookie partner, 20’s to 30’s

About the director:
Cate Caplin has produced, directed and choreographed over 200 productions and her work has been seen on television, in films, music videos, commercials and in theatrical venues world wide from the Paris Opera House to the Broadway Stage. She is a 34 times Regional and International Theatrical Ballroom Dance Champion, a published writer and an acting and dance coach. Cate wrote and directed her first feature film, Mating Dance which played the festival circuit and won an Accolade Award and she has been the recipient of a Garland Award, a Women In Theatre Red Carpet Award, multiple LA Stage Alliance Ovation, Eddon and Scenie Awards and an Award of Excellence from the LA Film Commission for her work as a Writer, Director, Choreographer and Producer. Cate is a Directing member of Actors Studio West, an Associate Member of SDC, and was honored last season to receive Playwright Arena’s “Lee Melville Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Los Angeles Theatre Community.”
