“When a writer meets the ghost of Franz Kafka, it sets off an existential chain of events forcing the cast to confront the meaning of life. This fast-paced pandemic comedy asks the question, can we justify our existence, or is life just an absurd zoom meeting?”

Welcome to the world of “Asking Strangers About the Meaning of Life” by William Missouri Downs. This Elite Theatre Company digital presentation is directed by Angela DeCicco and produced by JJ Jackman.

This Halloween, something wicked comes to a screen near you, as the Elite Theatre Company will stream the FireMuse Shakespeare production of “Minds Full of Scorpions,” premiering Friday, October 30, at 7:30pm. “Minds Full of Scorpions” is a digital retelling of Shakespeare’s classic Macbeth, re-imagining the tragedy as the fragmented remembrances of the King and Queen in the moments before their deaths; in this stripped-down, twenty-five minute re-vision, the two characters relive the moments and decisions that have brought them to this point, hearing the voices of the past, as well as imagining what their “dearest partner of greatness” has experienced.

Director Bill Walthall has assembled a stellar cast for the production: Genevieve Levin as the Queen and Adam Womack as the King, with Ezra Eells, Rosie Gordon, and Dani Orjala providing the chorus of 12 voices haunting the royal couple.

This digital production is now available FREE at the Elite YouTube Channel!

The Elite Theatre Company has closed as of March as of 3/15/2020 due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).  We are waiting to hear from County Health Officials to determine when we will be able to open our doors again. For the time being all performances will be held digitally.
