THE ELITE THEATRE COMPANY

Quality live theatre at the beautiful Channel Islands Harbor. Scroll down for more details.

WE WILL NOT GO QUIETLY INTO THE NIGHT

Founded in 1994 in Oxnard, The Elite Theatre Company has been a cornerstone of Ventura County's cultural and artistic life for over 30 years. We have fostered community through high-quality theatrical productions, transformative educational programs, and support for local theatre-makers. For 19 years, we called the Petit House in Oxnard's Historic Heritage Square home. In 2014, we found a new home in the former Maritime Museum at Channel Islands Fisherman's Wharf. What was a vacant building was transformed through tireless dedication by volunteers into a vibrant, welcoming theatre. Today, it stands as a beloved community space where storytelling, diversity, creativity, education, and artistic expression thrive.

Community theatre plays a vital role in enriching lives and creating support systems. For three decades, The Elite Theatre Company has witnessed firsthand the power of community theatre to transform individuals and strengthen communities, not only in Oxnard and Ventura County, but throughout Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and beyond. We have touched countless lives: audiences, actors, directors, stage managers, designers, technicians, poets, playwrights, students, educators, tourists, and patrons.

TODAY, OUR FUTURE IS AT RISK.

With the County Board of Supervisors' approval of the Karls LLC redevelopment plan for the Wharf, and the recent approval by the California Coastal Commission to begin construction, we will be forced to vacate our home this summer, with no new location secured. Throughout the two-year approval process and community outreach meetings with Karls, City, and Harbor officials, we were informed of the redevelopment plans and reassured that efforts would be made to help us find a new venue.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!

If The Elite Theatre Company has ever moved you, inspired you, taught you, or brought you joy, please stand with us now! Raise your voice and express your concern about Oxnard losing The Elite Theatre Company, placing its future and its essential contributions to our community at serious risk.
